9th Annual Grays Harbor Expo

The 9th Annual Grays Harbor Expo exploded onto the Ocean Shores Convention Center scene over this just past Memorial Day weekend. While the Memorial Day weekend is the “unofficial” first weekend of the summer, this year’s Grays Harbor Expo is in the books as a success.

How do you measure success for this kind of a festival? In a number of ways: how big was the crowd? – Three Hotels who have never booked full for this weekend in the past, put out the “No Vacancy” signs. Our Friday crowd was way bigger than usual when measured by the number of sales our vendors made. I talked to the Big Purple Slide owner and he had a huge smile. Saturday, not so much of a big crowd outside since the rain really dampened the area. However, the fellow selling RV’s wrote up several deals that day, because the people that did come, came inside. And the VFW post declared the Memorial Service a success because of the number of people attending the celebration of our Veterans.

OCEAN SHORES, WA – The Ocean Shores Convention Center was jam packed with every make and model of street legal motorcycles over the July 29-31, 2016 weekend. It was estimated that 5000-6000 motorcycle riders and enthusiasts took part in the 3 day Bikers at the Beach Motorcycle Rally. Over 40 vendors lined the parking lot and interior hallway of the Convention Center, indoor and outdoor stages hosted several great bands throughout the weekend – including Saturday nights headlining band Steppenwolf; there were indoor and outdoor beer gardens, motorcycle games, contests and a ride through bike blessing booth that was manned by the Christian Motorcycle Association. In the adjacent parking lot an all Harley stunt team - the Swoop Show, performed twice on Saturday to enormous crowds that consisted of local residents and motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages.
